During the coronavirus pandemic, many people are facing tough situations: some even more than others. Smriti Jha wanted to assist the many homeless and trafficked youth. After finding out the unfortunate lack of female hygiene products, she decided to help by donating care packages. She contacted numerous companies and organizations that are involved in making/giving female hygiene products. After thorough communication with companies, she was able to receive 120 care packages, worth a total of over $1200. These care packages include one soap bar, one wash cloth, one bag, one pouch, two cloth pads, 6 pad liners, and two underwear. These care packages went to Covenant House California, a homeless and trafficked youth shelter, in Oakland, CA. Due to her project, many young women will now have necessary hygienic supplies.
